Coolpix P7000 Announced

Nikon has just announced a new high-end Coolpix camera, intended to compete with other high-end compact cameras such as the Canon Powershot G11 and Panasonic LX-series. The new Coolpix P7000 offers a compact alternative to DSLR cameras with features appealing to more advanced users,  semi-pros and even pro photograpers. This is an important model for Nikon and it replaces previous Nikon efforts such as the P6000 and P5100, hoping to deliver against its rivals where previous models have had limited success.
